| We would like to share our experience with IVF Vacation because it was very positive and beyond our expectations. We are also very grateful to Dr Anna, his staff and to the Fite's. I happened to run across the IVF vacation web site while searching for possible news about failed IVFs. We have gone through 2 failed oocyte donation IVFs in the past. Our donors were poor responders, so we felt that perhaps that factor made our cycles unsuccessful, although we know that it can not be determined with certainty what causes an IVF cycle to fail. The IVF Vacation web site was so compelling that I felt giving ourselves another "last chance", at least this time we could take a little vacation to central Europe which I have always wanted to visit. I researched for references on Dr Pilka's work (one of the founders of the clinic) and I was so pleased to find out he is one of the pioneers in IVF research and that his work is worldwide recognized. That fact only gave us more encouragement to contact Marcela and Craig, which we did 3-4 months before our trip. By the time we were ready to travel to Czech, my excitement shifted from wanted to undergo another IVF to just wanted to travel to Europe. We made big plans to visit not only Prague but also Vienna, Salzburg and Bavaria, all in 13 days. We were more focus in seeing as much as possible of Europe and made the IVF a second priority. So we arrived to Zlin and the next day we went to the clinic. We were very impressed with Dr Anna, the clinic and the friendliness of the staff. The clinic has state of the art equipment. Dr Anna made himself available for any questions, which took me by surprise. In fact, I spent more quality time with him than with any of my previous infertility doctors. I felt they all really cared their patients. My experiences with previous IVFs here in the States were not pleasant. In fact, they left me with a sick feeling of having been at the mercy of people who are profiting from the misfortune of patients dealing with infertility (donor agencies, busy clinics and of course the lawyer's services required in oocyte donations). We were so blessed with an excellent donor and we were scheduled for a 5 day transfer. The Fites were gracious and wonderful hostesses. Marcela helped us to get a car rental and helped us with hotel reservations as our trip went along since we didn't have a planned out schedule. So we went out to visit wonderful Austria and Bavaria. We saw so much and enjoy it every minute. On our way back to Zlin for the transfer, we spent a night in a very charming little Czech town. The next day, the transfer went smoothly and again we were very impressed by the gentleness of the doctor and the expertise of the embryologist. Our stay in Zlin was also pleasant. We had a cell phone, directions to the mall, the market and restaurants. We had great food and delicious pizza, so we didn't feel lost in a place where the language is so different from ours. After the transfer we spent few days in Prague. Prague is an awesome place. It was so amazing to have a taste of the old world. We came back to the States, I continue taking the medications and waited semi-patiently for the results. The waiting was the worse part, because unlike the other times, this time I had a feeling that the results might be different. And they were. We are expecting! I am about 8 weeks. One baby. After all this time, I still can not believe it. We do highly recommend anybody who is seeking undergoing IVF to try to do it in Zlin. It is comparatively much less expensive, the clinic holds up to any American standards and you get to take a vacation. Marcela puts so much of herself into helping people out to achieve their dreams. It takes a lot of effort and care to coordinate an IVF and the Fites do it wholeheartedly. Marie and Bradley January 2007 - Marie is 35 weeks pregnant and her baby boy is kicking all the time.
